Florida’s Diverse Lands, Waters, and Wildlife

photo of restoration projectFlorida’s vast array of native wildlife depends upon highly productive and often delicate natural systems that range from the tropical coral reefs of the Keys and the Everglades’ “river of grass” to the crystal blue waters of the natural springs and the quiet beauty of the rolling sandhills.

Florida’s natural lands and waters attract 80 million visitors each year, fueling Florida’s economy but also placing growing stresses on Florida’s amazing diversity of fish and wildlife. Fortunately, if we invest in the Florida Wildlife Legacy Initiative today, we can conserve wildlife and vital natural areas for future generations.

A Powerful Coalition to Conserve our Wildlife Heritage

More than 120 organizations and businesses from across Florida have come together to spread the word about the Florida Wildlife Action Plan and to secure the funding it needs for success. YOU CAN HELP by joining the coalition, engaging organizations in your community and urging our elected officials to support the federal State Wildlife Grants Program and legislation providing long-term, dedicated funding for wildlife conservation and related education and recreation.
